While you sit at the lawn edge of the veranda and look down west to the "botanic garden" terrace, then the cinnamon slope and finally to the rice fields 30 m below the verandah there you see a brightly coloured little dragon strolling through the green.
Here an enlargement of the rectangle in the middle of the picture:

Regularly you see iguanas walking about the place - small ones and sometimes up to 180 cm long (like this chap here).
Or how about the many frogs and toads?

Freshwater turtoise living in one of the ponds.

Occasionally a group of monkeys visits - fortunately not doing any harm to plants and buildings.

The property is a bird watcher's paradise. Uncounted varieties of birds live here.

Everywhere you find nests.

This beo bird was abandoned and hand fed by the gardener. It was tame and came on his master's whistled command

Every evening just before sunset you see about 120 cranes flying right past the verandah. An unbelievable sight.

In the night this black hawk owl sings it's strange song and catches geckos from the verandah wall.
